Lite Brite

May 9, 2016 0 comments Article Uncategorized

This is my 4 year old daughter’s favorite toy. I was so excited when I came across

this toy because as a child I remember sitting on the floor in my living room

playing with hours on end. My daughter loved creating designs with the pegs and

seeing them “lite up” as she pressed the button. As a mom, I love toys that teach

without them even realizing their learning. This toy is a great tool for my daughter

who is in Pre-K learning her alphabet and letter sounds. Each picture has a design

using capital letters for each color (R=red, B=blue, G=green, P=pink, V=violet,

W=white, Y=yellow, O=orange). My daughter sounds out each color, decides

what letter it begins with and then plugs in the corresponding pegs. She even

learned a new color with this game, violet.

Cons

  • The pieces are very small so keep out of reach of young children.
  • Once the design is created and pegs are removed, you no longer have the capital letters showing you what colors go where, just holes. It makes it difficult for my daughter to recreate the image, so were constantly buying refill packs.
